Belgium is a country renowned for its linguistic diversity. Most people outside our country will know about the presence of French, spoken in the Wallonia region and the majority of people in Brussels, also used as a lingua franca in the capital; the variation of Dutch in Flandres, also known as Flemish; and the German-speaking community located in East Belgium.

However, this linguistic variety is even more deep when we take a look at minorised languages and dialects. This is the case, for instance, of West Flemish.

Do you want to know more about this language? Do you want to learn more about its status and population? Are you a native West Flemish language? Participate in this forum to get in touch with fellow curious learners and dive into the world of Belgian language diversity!
